Christmas Is Here!

I know we have all said it and heard it said many times but once again: “Can you believe it is Christmas already?!” As usual, I have a few gifts to buy (but I’m not stressed about it). I was in Walmart on White Horse Road last night between 6:00 and 7:00PM. It was fun watching all the people scurrying around, looking over merchandise, etc. I actually saw people smiling and being courteous to other shoppers. It was actually a very pleasant environment. I strolled around, picked up a few essentials (you know the stuff we all use every day) and really forgot why I went there.

There is a very quiet, unhurried feeling in my spirit right now. We have spent the past four weeks “Unveiling” our Vision for the future. It has been a blessing to see the new enthusiasm among so many of our people. I believe we have some Christ-Followers who really want to change the world! We certainly have the power living within us to pull it off.

I truly BELIEVE that we are on a journey that is going to result in thousands being saved, renewed, reignited, and other “re’s” I could mention. We are kicking off the New Year with a powerful series called “TRANSFORMERS.” I can’t wait to share the things God has been showing me in His Word. I am also looking forward to moving our Worship gatherings (i.e. ‘The Main Event’) into the Youth Zone! I was wondering yesterday how many people would come to the early service (9:00AM) and how many would come to the second service (10:30AM). I am more pumped about seeing what happens then than I am any package I could open on Christmas Day!

I am looking forward to spending some quality time with my family (immediate and extended) during this Christmas season. And, I have already fallen to the temptation of those chocolate kisses! But, it just wouldn’t be Christmas without those. I am ready for Lisa to make her famous Christmas cookies so I can sneak the dough from the mixing bowl while she’s not looking. (sorry for the rambling session)

I hope you are looking forward to enjoying the season with your family. Make it a time to share with those you care about the most. Remember the masses of people who will not enjoy this season for many reasons. Pray for our Military personnell who are protecting our opportunity to worship our Lord this Christmas. And, wherever you go, smile and say “Merry Christmas!” (even in public places where they call it ‘Happy Holidays.’) By the way, I shared on Wednesday night last week who really stole Christmas. Ask someone who was there if you’re interested.

From Me and MY Family to yours, Have a wonderful, Merry, safe Christmas HOLYdays!
