Transformation Stories

Today we got serious about celebrating what God is doing around Washington Avenue. The stories of the transforming power of God in people’s lives continue to surface. Man, I never get tired of hearing how God is changing people’s lives!! He continues to TRANSFORM entire families; bringing people to a place with Him that they’ve never been before.

It was awesome to see our greeters and ushers hauling in chairs at the start of the 10:30 service. People just kept coming in and our guys just jumped into action finding them a place to sit. I had to take the chair of our guest speaker (Kevin Campbell) on the front row when he came up to preach! (If you are reading this Kevin, right on man! You nailed the message today in both services. God used you mightily in my life and in our church today! I don’t think San Diego will know what hit them) When’s the last time you saw all three ‘front’ rows full in a church? It’s on dude!

I do need to make an appeal once again to our faithful Partners who come each week. If there is any way that you can start coming to the 9:00 service it would be a great help. We need to free up as many chairs as possible in our 10:30 service for the guests God keeps sending us each week. I read this statement recently: “Empty chairs at an optimal inviting time equals growth!” Doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to reach WHOEVER WE CAN may be as simple as getting up a little earlier and attending the 9:00 service so your seat will be available for someone else who wants to “get in” on what God is doing!! Pray about this with us! We are already talking about additional services to give everyone a chance to come.

I want to tell you what’s coming up next but will do that later in the week. In this blog I just want to do what we did in both our services this morning — CELEBRATE WHAT GOD HAS DONE! So far in 2008 we know about 29 people who have accepted Christ and are waiting to be baptized and we have had 103 new guests in our worship services (this is only the ones who filled out a card. Many others have come and not turned in a card). Our average attendance this year has been 330 with a maximum, blow out the doors crowd of 566 on Easter Sunday! What a God we serve. He is doing amazing things in His world and letting us be a part of it.

TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!!! GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!!
