 The Bible says that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:14) In our DOWNPOUR Series it has been made perfectly clear that the only way to experience a true REVIVAL from God is to have a proper understanding of HIS HOLINESS!! Once we understand that GOD IS HOLY, it should change every aspect of our lives. Isaiah saw in to heaven and heard the angelic beings saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, the whole earth is full of His Glory.” (Is. 6) There is no better way to worship God in the Beauty of His Holiness than by taking a good long look at the beauty of His created earth. On my way home yesterday I saw the most fantastic sunset! The sky was so magnificent that any words I could think of to describe it would fail pitifully.

Out of all the things that our Great God created none is more MAGNIFICENT than Human Beings!! Augustine, one of the early church fathers observed: “Men go abroad to wonder at the height of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the river, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circle motion of the stars; and they pass by themselves without wondering at all.” The human body declares the glory of God with greater volume than a galaxy ever could!

Consider these marvels of the human body: Our heart pumps over 1,000 gallons of blood a day, over 55 million gallons in a lifetime. The lungs contain 1,000 miles of capillaries. The blood in the lungs exchanges oxygen for carbon dioxide in a reaction so complicated and difficult it would be like a man shot out of a cannon carving the Lord’s Prayer on the head of a pin as he passes by. The DNA in your cell nuclei contains about 2,000 genes per chromosome. About 6 feet of DNA is folded into each cell nucleus. This nucleus is 6 microns long. This would be like putting 30 miles of fishing line into a cherry pit. And it is folded in a specific way (unique to each person). To write out the information contained on the DNA of one cell would take 300 books with 500 pages each. If all the DNA in a human body was stretched into one strand it would be long enough to circle the sun 260 times!!!

With the vast complicity of the Human Body, don’t you find it amazing that some of the most intelligent people on our planet want desperately to believe that all this happened by evolution? To say that life began with a “Big Bang” is about as likely as saying there was an explosion in a print shop and, after all the dust and smoke cleared, there sat the Webster’s Dictionary! Evolution as an explanation of origin is IMPOSSIBLE!!

Why am I sharing all of this? For those who are really interested in experiencing a DOWNPOUR from God need to realize how difficult it is for Him to pour out something fresh and new on a generation that sanctions the killing of our most innocent citizens — THE UNBORN. This Sunday we will continue our focus on personal and corporate revival. We will once again emphasize the necessity of understanding God’s Holiness and responding accordingly! And, on this SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE DAY, we will focus on the role of all Christ-Followers in seeking to stop the merciless killing of unborn children!! Your prayers are essential and your presence in God’s House on Sundays is critical in this dark hour.
