One thing is certain, when we are prepared and open to what God wants to DO in any public gathering of the church, we can always walk away saying “WOW! wasn’t God unbelievable today?” Yesterday was certainly one of those WOW days.

I was looking forward to being together with God’s People meeting at Washington Avenue. I was doubly excited about the privilege our church has to have two young men who are pursuing God’s Call on their lives for the Gospel Ministry. Our church licensed them to the Gospel Ministry. This piece of paper respresents our affirmation of their testimony to God’s Call to serve in full time, vocational ministry. We are their Home Church and will always stand behind them wherever and however God chooses to use them.

Please be in continual prayer for Matt, Crystal, Kayleigh, and Mason Crocker; and Corey, Carrie, and baby twins Smith as they pursue with a passionate hunger what God has yet to assign them. All of these young people are juggling family, jobs, and active ministries right now. Like many of our families, they are pulled in so many directions by the demands of the urgent. Pray for them to have God’s peace and wisdom as they seek His FACE!

The second service was very well attended yesterday — something that makes more people than the Pastor happy! Even though the message we shared was difficult to talk about (see www.washingtonavenue.org to watch) people seemed to be hanging on every word that was spoken. As a messenger of God’s Truth, nothing could be more rewarding than knowing you shared the Word of God and people were hungry for it!!! Then, the service could not have ended any better than by witnessing a young man’s public profession of faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior! Joey is 19 and was saved last Sunday at the College/Young singles “Connecting Point.” Seeing Corey stand there to share about helping Joey receive Christ was a perfect ending to a great worship service!

I challenge every Believer who reads this to follow the exhortation of one of the songs our Praise Choir sings:

“Rise Up and Praise HIM!”                                 COULD IT BE THAT THE DOWNPOUR IS BEGINNING???
