Not Just Another “Sunday”

Some people may have been really excited about this Sunday because of a football game. While I did watch the “Super Bowl” and enjoyed the excitement of a close game, my exuberance about this “Special Day” far exceeds any temporary fame earned by winning a football game.

I heard a speaker recently say that Moses was the most humble person on the earth and so God spoke to him in person (Numbers 12:3). Knowing that God used Moses to boldly stand up to Pharaoh and lead the people of God out of Egypt makes it difficult to think of him as a “humble” person. Moses led the greatest relocation project in the history of humanity! It is important to remember that greatness in the Kingdom of God is achieved by those who seek nothing but humble service to our Great God! Anything else makes for benign activity! Jesus said it like this, “The first shall be last and the last shall be first!”

My desire to simply share the Word of God today and to be open with our people about some things God has “BROKEN” me about concerning my pride and arrogance in the ministry opened the door for God to do some great things. One man in his mid to late twentys told me after the service that he had prayed in his home on Saturday night to receive Christ as Savior and Lord! Two grown men came to me and shared how the messages shared today and last week were exactly what they needed for things that they are going through. What’s so amazing about that? Neither of these men attend our church! They just happened to be here on two weeks when God had some things to say to their hearts. THAT’S PRETTY COOL!! Many others came and prayed and shared things that are going on in their lives. A very godly man in our congregation ministered to me in a powerful way! Another precious person came confessing a need to become broken and once again open to God!

LET THE DOWNPOUR CONTINUE!

One Response to “Not Just Another “Sunday””

  1. I am so glad that those men were seeking what God had to say to them. If we are open to Him, we will hear. I know God is smacking me around with things I need to change to be a better witness for Him.
