“Snow-Pour”
What a great way to put God’s Exclamation Point on our “DOWNPOUR” focus by the beautiful “SNOW-POUR” that visited us on Sunday evening. We were blessed to have our family together as the monster snow flakes fell quietly from the sky. The peaceful feel of a true snow shower is very unique. I stood outside for a few minutes to just enjoy the solitude of God’s quiet artistry!
There are so many analogies between God’s “Spiritual” DOWNPOUR and the weather. Yesterday we closed out our Sermon Series where we focused on Revival/Renewal/DOWNPOUR. I pray that we are just in the beginning stages of a true DOWNPOUR from God! We have to do our part — continually — in order for God to do His part. He so wants to bless us! He longingly waits for us to get our “spiritual funnels” in place so that He can empty His reservoir of blessings into our lives.
We are asking for people to take some time to write down a short testimony of something specific God has done during this “DOWNPOUR” emphasis. You can email your testimony to me at chuck@washingtonavenue.org or arlene@washingtonavenue.org or you can write it down and get it to the office or give it to any of our staff members. We want to put all these testimonies on the website for others to read in hopes that it will encourage Believers everywhere to “Return to the Lord” so that He can send a DOWNPOUR on His Church! Wouldn’t it be incredible to see God do a Supernatural Work in every New Testament Church!
We have some exciting Sundays coming up. On March 8th we will hear from our young people about God’s DOWNPOUR in their lives at “Big Bear” (i.e. their winter conference). And then on March 15 Zach and Noelle Slagel will be speaking in both services. They are preparing to be career Missionaries with a Missions Agency called Pioneers. I can’t wait for our people to get better acquainted with Zach and Noelle because we are their Home Church and will be supporting them with our prayers and financially wherever God sends them in this great big world! Trust me, you don’t want to miss these next two Sundays!!!
