All Things “NEW”

I can’t believe it has been so long since I posted on my blog. I just want to say thank you for continuing to check to see if I have written anything. It is an honor for me to know that people out there are interested in anything I would have to say! I pray for God’s richest blessings in your life — wherever you are in your journey with Jesus and whatever you are doing.

I am so glad that God is “IN” to NEW things! Any situation or circumstance that He influences is like a brand new creation. I heard recently about a man who said he wasn’t real sure he wanted to go to heaven. When asked why he stated how boring it would be to just float around in the atmosphere doing the same thing all the time. Obviously this poor man had a wrong understanding about heaven. With God, everything is always NEW! Each experience in heaven will seem as though it is brand new, even though it is something we have done many times.

I once heard a definition of Eternal Life that absolutely pumps me up: “Eternal Life is, life that is forever NEW.” Isn’t that incredible? In Christ, we have the opportunity to continually experience NEW things. Since Jesus taught us to pray: “your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” doesn’t it seem like He expects us to get in on this NEW revelations thing while we are still on earth?

As I pondered on these things it occurs to me how likely it is that God has something brand new to show me today! Man, I can’t wait to get on with the day, expectant about whatever God has planned for me today. What about you? Do you think God has some NEW things to show you today? Maybe His newness will be manifested through something very painful that you are experiencing. That’s what really makes the Gospel of Jesus Christ appealing to me. NO matter how hard the enemy tries to destroy our lives, Jesus has an “abundant” new-blessing just waiting to bloom in our darkness.

Several years ago I saw an article in a news magazine about Mount St. Helens that exploded back in the 80’s. (you know, the volcano?) There was a picture in the article of the vast landscape that was covered with gray ash. It was depressing to look at all the devastation. But, in  one frame, the photographer zoomed in on a tiny wild flower that had pushed its way through the ash. The caption under the picture said something like this: “Hope in the midst of destruction.” That was a great reminder of how God always has a NEW blessing for us no matter what we may be experiencing!

While our surroundings are bursting forth with NEW life, I pray that you too will experience ALL THINGS NEW!
